Radiate, Beyond and Transfer are part of the series "After Your Glow", a continuation of the artist’s previous works using her own geometry as the starting point. In this series, the compositions become further reduced to a few coloured planes, the complexity of which lies within the specific meeting of points and the spaces between.

The colour used in the paintings is derived solely from powdered rock, collected during a 4-month period of travel around some of the most remote Andean peaks. Garrard’s treks through Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil, lead her to the some of the grandest mountains and valleys, through which she collected a variety of coloured rocks from different geological sites. Once back in her studio, the rocks have gone through various stages of grinding and refining in order to make them into pigment.

It is important for the artist to use natural colours from places that have inspired the work; it gives the paintings a sense of place and materiality. The triangular forms reflecting their mountain sources, they are made both in homage to the mountains and are the mountains. Combining the landscapes with the artist’s own internal visions, they serve as portraits of a self-reflective pursuit to become as serene as the mountains.

Echoing the traditions of contemplative paintings, the interlocking compositions incorporate structures that imply pure or timeless forms, while the colour and materiality evoke an embodied visual experience: a transient exchange between subjectivity of personal experience and consciousness of the eternal.
